He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Caviness and Syble Caviness; his wife Sharon; his son Larry Dale Caviness; and his siblings, Harold Caviness and Pauline Lewis.
He is survived by: his close friend Anna Carter; his son Kenneth Caviness; his nephew Jerry Mann; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, James Carter, Carri Carter and Fred. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Fred can be made to St. Jude's, reflecting his compassionate and giving nature.
