With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Franklin Gates of Joplin, Missouri, who passed away on February 21, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Gates and Nettie Ethel Sperry Gates; and his siblings, Helen Gates Klingman, Jack Gates and Edith Gates Speis.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Joann Rickey Gates; his daughter-in-law Carolyn Gates of Joplin; his son Frank Gates, Jr. of Nixa; his granddaughter Whitney (John Lozette) of Livonia; and his great grandchildren, Halle and Olivia.

The family requests that all guests please wear a mask.
