She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Baumann and Lydia Baumann; her husband Reverend Donald E. Shute; and her siblings, J. C. (Jean Baumann) and Evelyn (Buel Atkinson).

She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Chester (Lorin) and Pamela Shute (Timothy Redmond); her granddaughter Athena Gillespie (Howard); and her sister-in-law Doris Ghan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
