It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Fern Ellen Goodenough (Joplin, Missouri), who passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Hurrell and Marjorie Hurrell; her children, Billy McCray and Debra Kossman; and her granddaughter Sarah Ricke.
She is survived by: her former husband Robert McCray; her husband George Goodenough; her son Lynn McCray (Lavonne) of Medicine Lodge; her grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Robin and Tina; her sisters, Mary Ann Simmons (Gary) of Alba and Patty Baker (Wayne) of Carl Junction; and her brother-in-law Norman Rush of Carthage. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild with an additional great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Solace House of the Ozarks or Carterville United Methodist Church in her name.
