Edith Dilworth, 85, of Joplin, MO went home to be with the Lord at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020.
Edith was born on June 2, 1934, in Providence, Rhode Island, one of five children of Daniel and Anna (Hayes) Marland.
She retired in Lemon Grove, California from 24 years as owner/manager of the Dilworth Board and Care Home.
She also made and sold elaborate cakes for birthdays and weddings. She enjoyed being an accomplished seamstress for her family and friends. She had a kind heart and her home was always open to anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years James Dilworth; her parents; a brother Daniel Marland;
two sisters, Fay Norton, and Diana Botelho.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeannie Potts, and Linda Dilworth; her sister Lynn Marsh; sister-in-law Dorothy White; two grandchildren, Laura Potts, and Christina Potts, and four great-grandchildren Jakob, Makenna, Saffron, and Calypso; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
At her request, no funeral services will be held. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel, Joplin, MO
