It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Van Tassel of Joplin, Missouri, who passed away on July 24, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, T. V. VanTassel and Billie VanTassel; his son Todd Van Tassel; his wife Teresa; his children, Troy Barker, Victor VanTassel and Rebecca VanTassel Light; and his sisters, Paula VanTassel, Victoria Gorentz, Christine Buchanan and Patty Shilling.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Joplin Elk's Lodge Christmas Basket Program, a charity Douglas always helped and admired.
