We are sad to announce that on January 2, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Dorothy Wood (Joplin, Missouri), born in Jasper, Missouri. She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Joseph and Josie Marie Collings (Chambers); her husband William Eugene Wood; her son William Wood; and her brothers, William Joseph Collings and Chester Collings.

She is survived by: her children, Larry Wood of Joplin and Sharon Godfrey (John) of Carl Junction. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

“Our precious Dorothy, she has been an inspiration to my family since I was a young child. My mother always talks about how she was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen when she met her. She was 90 in this pic, but lived 97 years. Always impeccably dressed, jewelry to match every outfit, and a complete joy to be around. On a positive note, she is reunited with Gene my lifetime mentor. The world lost, but heaven gained another angel. Love you so, Dorothy!💔”
