He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Burkey and Mildred Burkey (Holmes); his son Dustin Burkey; and his siblings, Leon Burkey and Sharon Carlisle.
He is survived by: his son Darren; his wife Freda Burkey of Diamond; his granddaughter Ashley Baker (Bryson) of Joplin; and his pet Missy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Silver Moon Youth Camp.
