He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Elias James and Juanita Pearl James (Williams); his wives, Martha James and Elaine Davis James; and his siblings, Bill, Jerry James, Betty Pogue and Donna Ogle.
He is survived by: his children, Sheryl James of Joplin and Robert James of Oronogo, Missouri; his grandchildren, Robert E. James of Joplin, Tina Maggard of Carl Junction, Tabatha McCully of Republic and Jodi Kunkle of Stricker, Ohio; his great grandchildren, Dennis of Carl Junction and Ellisa Maggard of Carl Junction; his close friend Betty Smith of Joplin; and his sister Carolyn Casey of Neosho, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Humane Society.
