It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Jerome Abbott of Joplin, Missouri, who passed away on November 13, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Leon and Helen Elizabeth Abbott (Cass); his stepfather C. C.; his sons, Robert and Jeremy Abbott; and his brother Larry Abbott.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Abbott; his children, Jeff Abbott (Tonya) of Joplin, Julie Jones (Randy), Scott Abbott of Carthage, Christian Abbott (Megan) of Pittsburg and Destiny Abbott of Joplin; his sister Sharon Meyers (Don) of Rock Port, Missouri; and his sister-in-law Diane Abbott of Rock Port. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
