He was predeceased by: his parents, Chet Nelson and Harriet Nelson (Chipman). He is survived by: his wife Doreen Nelson (Haggard); his daughters, Teri Taylor (Kip) of The Villages, Kimberly Utter (Nelson) of Pierce City, Amy Covert (Michale) of Webb City and Holly Bowers (Billy) of Joplin; his grandchildren, Tyler Huddleston (Danielle), Nate Huddleston, Kelcie Hunt (Ryan), Lacey Hatcher (William), Garen Nelson (Morgan), Desire Covert, Josh Covert, Riley Bowers and Avery Bowers; and his siblings, Hannah, Havilan of Joplin, Mary Gilbert of Oregon and Charlie Nelson of Utah. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
