He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Sundermeyer and Carrie B. Sundermeyer (Lefever); his wife Louise Sundermeyer; and his children, Donald Philip Sundermeyer, Kenny Lynn Sundermeyer and Laura Lee Sundermeyer.

He is survived by: his children, Kathryn Ann "Kathy" Scott (Gary) of Jefferson City and Gary Allen Sundermeyer of Tebbetts; his daughter-in-law Linda Sundermeyer; his brother Carl Sundermeyer (Carolyn) of Holts Summit; his grandchildren, Amy Thomas (Matt), Eric Scott (Erica) and Sarah Hammack (Riley); and his great grandchildren, Chase, Avery Scott, Bryn, Grant and Karter Hammack.
