He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie, Sr. Hammond and Eddie Mae Hammond (Ware); and his brothers, Jerry Hammond, Joseph Hammond, Glenn Hammond, Bennie Hammond, Jr. and Theodore Hammond.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cerise M. Johnson of St. Louis, Kilwana J. Johnson of St. Louis and Tomeka L. Hinton of St. Louis; his niece Cora Johnson of Chesterfield; his granddaughters, Cemetrius Taylor, Tatyonna Watson and Taomea Burgess; and his sisters, Louberda Hammond Thomas (Marcellus), Carolyn Hammond Hall (Kenneth), Millie Morgan and Laurie Morgan Tate. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
