He was predeceased by: his parents, Emanuel Simms and Minnie Simms (Baines); his brothers, Raymond Simms and Floyd Simms; and his sister-in-law Lisa Simms.
He is survived by: his siblings, Larry Simms of University City, Emanuel Simms, Jr. (Darlene) of St. Charles County, Elizabeth Simms of Jefferson City and Kathryn Simms of Castle Point; his sister-in-law Mamie Simms of St. Louis; his friend Roger Dydell; and his close friends, Karen Baker, James Lee Kimbrough and Rhonda Bayscoplous. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends.
