He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Owens and Mary Owens (Niekamp); his siblings, Bill, Jerry Owens and Pat Enloe; his son Tim Owens; and his granddaughter Brandy Young.

He is survived by: his wife Judith; his children, Ted Owens (Lisette), Vince Owens (Jana), Gary Owens (Carolyn) and Jeri Davis (Frank); and his brother Bruce Owens (Charmaine). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
