He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack E. Smith and Jeannette A. Smith (Glover); and his uncle Jim Glover. He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Sally J. Kauffman of St. Louis and J. Scott "Scotty" Smith of Jefferson City; his brothers, A. Ross Smith of Columbia and Kent Smith (Denise) of Jefferson City; his half-sister Kelly J. Smith Shelton (Jim) of Va; his uncle Charlie Smith (Alice) of Kirkwood; his aunt Fran Glover of Jefferson City; and his grandchildren, Ashtyn Kauffman, Lily Kauffman, Jayden Smith and Addyson Walkenbach. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
