She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Varvel and Dixie Lee Brown (Bowyer); her father-in-law Billy Hemphill; and her stepfather-in-law William Brauckseiker. She is survived by: her husband Gary Hemphill; her daughters, Ashley Hemphill of St. Louis and Alexandra "Alexa" Hemphill of St. Louis; her sister Sheree Starrett (David) of Overland Park; her niece Emily Smith (Cameron); her great-nephew Walker of Overland Park; her great-niece Caroline of Overland Park; her cousin Dixie Jean Pecsi; her mother-in-law Norma Brauckseiker; and her brother-in-law Kenneth Hemphill (Vickie).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Special Learning Center or the First Baptist Church Missions.
