With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell Dean Mertz of Jefferson City, Missouri, who passed away on May 10, 2023 at the age of 52. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Doug Mertz and Lois Mertz; and his grandparents, Frank Mertz, Leona, Conrad Reinkemeyer, Clem and Bernadine Eichholz.
He is survived by: his parents, Ronald Francis and Jo Ann Marie Mertz (Eichholz); his brother Keith Mertz (Anita); his nieces, Dr. Katrina Burke (Derick), Amanda (Craig), Toni Sneller (Dustin) and Taylor Doke (Mikael); his nephew Nikolay Mertz; and his pet Zeuss. He is also survived by 11 great-nieces and nephews.
