He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Helming and Zelma Blanche Helming (Lusher); his son Brian Helming; his grandson Dennis Helming; and his siblings, Richard Helming, Jerry Helming, James Helming, Leeroy Helming, Kenneth Helming, Charles Helming, Bobby Helming and Helen Bryan.

He is survived by: his wife Patty Helming; his children, Ronnie Helming, Kathy Cooper and Randy Helming; his siblings, Betty Schaffer, David Helming (Rebecca) and Ruby Eickhorst (Danny); his grandchildren, Chad Helming (Chelsea), Abney Cooper (Bailey), Haley Helming, Tammy Helming and Natalie Helming; and his great grandchildren, Andrien Helming, Coraline Helming, Mattie Napier, Sophia Cayton, Tristopher Helming and Devin Heming.
