He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Joseph Walter Watson; his children, Drew Watson (Susan) of Jefferson City and Beth Patton (Chris) of Astoria; his grandchildren, Declan Carver Watson, Elliot Faith Watson and Xaiden William Patton; his mother Sue McCormick; his stepfather Bob McCormick of Columbia; his sisters, Sally D. Rasmussen of Omaha and Molly Watson (John Hartman) of Astoria; his niece Rachel Bender (Mike) of Yorktown, Virginia; his great-nieces, Morgan Rebecca Bender and Rhianna Nicole Bender; his friend Annette Clark of Jefferson City; and his brothers-in-law, Quentin Rasmussen and Bill Hale. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.
