He was predeceased by: his parents, August Gerling and Bertha Wolters Gerling. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Gerling (Brian Brandt) of Jefferson City and Nicholas Gerling (Jennifer) of Brentwood; his grandson Maverick Gerling of Brentwood; and his brothers, Tom Gerling (Margaret) of St. Louis, Larry Gerling (Brenda) of Kansas City, Alan Gerling (Diane) of Jefferson City, Bill Gerling of Jefferson City and John Gerling of Fulton.
