He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Hallie Vastine Halsey (Richardson); his wife Coralyn; his siblings, John Halsey (Helen), Emma Gruber (Arthur), Maude Perkins (Frank) and Flora Mae Williams (Will); his nephew Elliott Gruber; and his parents-in-law, Israel J. and Hallie Collier.

He is survived by: his daughters, Robyn McKnight of Houston, Terri Halsey of Houston and Christy Crump of Florissant; his grandchildren, Bianca Daniels of Houston and Sydney Crump of Florissant; his nieces, Frances "Frenchy" Tucker (Edward), Gloria Fletcher and Pamela Bois; and his cousin Phillip Graham.
