He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Mathilda Bertha Schaffer (Scheulen); his brothers, David and Alphonse Schaffer; and his brothers-in-law, Leonard Schulte and Anthony Kloeppel.
He is survived by: his children, Clarence Frederick Schaffer (Brandie Jensen Bryant) of Jackson and Jamie Lynn Mitchell (Barrett) of Desloge; his siblings, Hilda Schulte of Osage Bend, Patricia Kloeppel of Wardsville and Marshall Schaffer (Barbara) of Holts Summit; and his grandchildren, Sierra Schaffer, Kami Schaffer, Caleb Schaffer, Samuel Mitchell and Louis Mitchell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
