Mike Egbert Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mike Egbert of Jefferson City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 19, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmer Egbert, and Wilmalene Egbert, Jr. (Pinkston). He is survived by: his wife Charlene Land; his children, Vicki Fry (Harold) of California, James "Jim" Egbert (Debbie) of Warrenton and Brian Egbert (Sherri) of Sedalia; and his grandchildren, Amie Kimball (Spencer), Zack Fry, Mike Fry, Casey Sorensen (Will), Rio Amick, Dallas Egbert, Michaela Taylor-Bey (Robert), Caleb Egbert and Corbin Rowland (Maddie). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Freeman Chapel (915 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.

Vaughn Hart wrote a sympathy message

“I first met Mike when he was assigned to the 203rd Armor unit of the Missouri Army National Guard in Clinton, MO. He was my tank commander in an old M48A1 tank. When I went to the Guard Headquarters in 1989 to apply for my National Guard retirement, Mick (most of us knew him as Mick or Michael and not Mike) to my surprise he met me at the door. His humor was one thing we all will miss.”
