He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Thomas and Winnie Mae Wren (Binggeli); his brother Clyde Wren; his stepmother Blanche Wren; and his stepsister Peggy English (Dickson).
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Plybon; his children, Deborah Sue Struemph (William) of Bloomington and Christopher Darcy Wren of Jefferson City; his grandson John Wesley Struemph of Bloomington, Indiana; his sister-in-law Neoma "Dutch" Plybon; and his half-brother Clifford Wren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
