He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Scherr and Eulah Scherr (Sickinger); his wife Helen Backes; and his great grandchild Ava Brown. He is survived by: his children, Randy Scherr (Phyllis), Kevin Scherr (Debbie), Julie Berhorst (Brian), Stacie Bailey (Colin) and Keri Austin (Davey); and his great grandchildren, Zach, Savannah, Sammy Brown, Hailey, Ethan Heckman, Cohen, Laney Scherr, Harper, Brecken Lasley and Benjamin Berhorst.
