He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond and Millie Pernie Ruth (Wheeler); his parents-in-law, Ross William and Reba Alice Jones; his children-in-law, Michelle L. Ruth and Craig A. Starnes; and his brothers, Avon L. Ruth (Jeanne) and Ivan L. Ruth (Ilene).
He is survived by: his wife Lois Ruth; his children, Rita R. Starnes of Jefferson City, John A. Ruth (Jeanne) of Jefferson City and Mitch Ruth (Vicky) of Jefferson City; his siblings, Irley G. Ruth (Maxine) of Downing and Pernie R. Smith of Wasilla, Alaska; his sisters-in-law, Karen Phelan (Barney), Joyce Rice (Dale) and Shirley Ruth; his grandchildren, Ryan Starnes (Anita), Brent Starnes (Arie), John Ruth (Kasey), Travis Ruth (Monica), Caleb Ruth (Chelsey) and Katie Ruth; his stepgrandchildren, Erin Naeger, Katherine Reed (Jamie) and Mary Mabery (Zach); his great grandchildren, Camille Starnes, Isabella Starnes, Victoria Starnes, Cora Starnes, Kinley Ruth, Kamdyn Ruth, Kylin Ruth, Easton Ruth, Maddox Ruth, Thatcher Ruth, June Ruth, Ellis Ruth and Louie Fay Ruth; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Beau, Jake, Anna Reed, Molly and Mark Mabery. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
