He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Anthony and Florence O'Donnell (Markham); his wife Micky; and his sisters, Ruth Schwarz (Otto) and Nancy Whitelaw (George).
He is survived by: his sons, John David O'Donnell, Jr. (Ida), Peter O'Donnell (Carolyn), Ed O'Donnell and Ted O'Donnell; his grandchildren, Kelly Piatek (Michael), Lauren Wolff (Andrew), Corinne Brewer (Bryan), Hunter O'Donnell, Mallory O'Donnell, Libby O'Donnell and Roan O'Donnell; his great grandchildren, Alexander Piatek, Robert Piatek, Graham Wolff and Paige Wolff; and his brother Jim O'Donnell.
