It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Curry of Jefferson City, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Kansas, who passed away on December 3, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Curry and Irene Curry (Smith); his former wife Barbara Becker; his spouse Shirley Palmer; his stepson Mark Old of Columbia; and his sisters, Joanne Cates and Sharon Rimann.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Haslag (Dan) of Jefferson City, Patrick Curry (Meredith) of Jefferson City, Mary Rackers (Tom) of Jefferson City, Timothy Curry of Lenexa, Sheila O'Neal of Overland Park, Sean Curry (Cindy) of Denton and Shannon Curry (Theodore Shinkle) of Hurley, NM.; his stepchildren, Jeff Old of Columbia and Stacy Kneibert (Phil) of Leawood; and his brothers, Thomas Curry of Kansas City and Jerry Curry (Heather) of Overland Park. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE), Missouri River Regional Library or Pancreatic Cancer Research Network.
