He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Melvin and Margie Godsy; and his father-in-law David Giem. He is survived by: his parents, Jerry Baysinger and Kay Baysinger (Godsy); his wife Melinda Baysinger; his sons, Ian and Elijah Baysinger; his sister Tami Conner (Rick); his mother-in-law Ellen Giem; his siblings-in-law, Laura Giem, Crystal Similio (Christian) and Andrew Giem (Marianela); his uncle Martin Godsy (Geana); his nieces and nephews, Cheyenne Conner, Mackenzie Conner, Abigail Giem, Ricky Conner Jr. and Aleksandr Watson; and his cousins, Sasha Kremer, Nathan Godsy (Misty) and Andy Godsy (Meghan).

James was currently employed at St. Mary's Hospital on the PCU/Covid floor.
