He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Brunnert; his children, Jeffrey Patten (Anne) of Jefferson City, Lisa Wolken (David) of Jefferson City, Marc Patten (Lisa) of Jefferson City and Kristi Hixson of Jefferson City; his grandchildren, Derek Patten (Rachel), Jamie Patten-Bivalacqua (Courtny), Darrell Wolken (Jessica), Stephanie Weiler (Eric), Brian Patten (Nikki), Clay Patten, Ashley Patten, Chandler Patten and Haley Hixson; his great grandchildren, Trenton Wolken, Jackson Wolken, Charles Wolken, Dominic Wolken, Colson Weiler, Daxton Weiler and Carter Bivalacqua; his brother Roman Patten (JoAnna); and his siblings-in-law, Aggie Struemph (Virgil), Gertrude Schwartze (Charles), Judi Crede (Jack) and John Brunnert (Mary Ellen).
