He was predeceased by: his mother Johanna Babette Sommerer (Kaeppel); his great-grandparent Johann Michael Sommerer; his wife Charlene Propst; his son Bruce Sommerer; and his siblings, Raymond Sommerer (Gloria), Mary Hoelher and Dorothy Ann Eckert.
He is survived by: his son Alan Sommerer (Wentao Pan) of San Jose, Calf.; his grandson Sam Sommerer of Arlington; and his siblings, Margaret Katherine Goe of St. Charles and James Sommerer (Betty) of Jefferson City.
