He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Cook and Elaine Spencer. He is survived by: his former wife Carol Ruth Briggs; his wife Ruth Kidwell; his sons, Mikl Cook (Marsha) of Holts Summit and Kelson Cook (Nancy) of Brevard; his sisters, Jennie Johnson of New Orleans and Glenda Vittetoe of Independence, Missouri; and his grandson Austin Cook (Adrienne) of New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City.
