He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman L. McDowell and Rita M. Taylor; his wife Ann McDowell; his brother Darrell McDowell; and his grandson Taylor McDowell.
He is survived by: his children, Rick McDowell (Sally) of Parkville, MO., Cindy Lipp of Jefferson City and Suzie Settle Smithville (Mike); his sister Carolyn McDowell of Jefferson City; his grandchildren, Madison McDowell, Corey Lipp, Austin Lipp, Steven Settle, Kaleb Settle and Megan Settle; and his great grandchildren, Jackson and Audrey Settle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jefferson City Jays Football Foundation.
