He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert L. Stanley and Betty Rose Stanley (Goodman); his siblings, Ruth Hall, Diana Morey and Arthur Stanley; and his son-in-law Michael Jackson.

He is survived by: his wife June Stanley; his children, Gilbert Mathew Stanley (Jessica) and Belynda Jackson (Tommy Howser); his siblings, Lori Whittle (Billy) and Guy Stanley; and his grandchildren, Miranda, Bethany, Lynzee, Macy, Austin, Michelle, Michael, Morgan and Penelope.
