He is survived by: his children, Ronald C. Schaefer, Ralph S. Schaefer (Gerri), Rachael A. Murray Rakestraw (Bill), Russell K. Schaefer (Mary), Ruth M. Dittmer (Curt), Rita K. Storey (Tom) and Rose M. Eskens (Dave). He is also survived by grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
