He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Schmutz and Vera Schmutz (Forbis); his spouses, Lucille Sigmon and Mary Baysinger; and his sisters, Mary Emma Boessen and Ila Fern Priest.
He is survived by: his children, Katie Favazza of St. Louis, Bill Schmutz (Linda) of Jefferson City, Bobby Schmutz of Jefferson City, Kevin Fox of Moberly, Randy Schmutz (Cami) of Russellville and Paul Schmutz of Jefferson City; his sister Sylva Odell Hunolt (Rick) of Jefferson City; and his grandchildren, Steven Brandenburg (Melissa), Daniel Schmutz (Bridgett), Brian Schmutz (Angie), Jessica Schmutz, Tyler Schmutz, Jodi Schmutz, Erin Schmutz, Laura Pfingsten and Nick Favazza. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to charity of the donor's choice.
