He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Valentine Merkl and Eva Merkl; his wife Shirley Merkl; his daughters, Luxie Hurst (Jay) of Grantsville and Linda Barnes (Wayde) of Mexico; his grandchildren, Tony Bulfer (Jama) of Magna, Tim Bulfer (Tia) of Sugarhouse, Tom Bulfer (Heidi) of Grantsville, Trish Barnes of Mexico and Jessica Barnes of Mexico; his siblings, Francine Haeseli (George) of Aurora, Magdalena Hill (Brian) of Arizona and Joe Merkl of Arizona; and his grandson Terry Bulfer. He was also cherished by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
