He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Jacob Harry and Lorraine Martha Schmutzler (Henry); his sister Donna Sue Schmutzler; and his siblings-in-law, Bruce and Marian Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Schmutzler; his children, Brock Schmutzler (Elicia) of Cerritos, CA and Amber Schmutzler of Jefferson City, MO; his siblings, Diane Weiland (Keith) of Howards Grove, WI, Monty Schmutzler (Pam) of Jefferson City, MO and Patti Schmutzler of Jefferson City, MO; his grandchildren, Nolan, Ethan and Emily Gonzales; and his former wife Brenda Prouty. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
