He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Markus and Mary Markus (Brown); his wife Barbara Gilmore; his sons, Brad Wheat, Kevin Wheat and Tony Markus; and his sister Barbara Anderson.
He is survived by: his children, Tom L. Markus, Jr. (Jamma) of Paola, Billy Markus of Topeka, Dustin Markus of Jasper and Andrea Layng (Myron) of Garnett. He is also survived by many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
