He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Homer and Bessie Naomi Simpson (Roseberry); his daughter Geraldine Haley; his stepdaughter Ruby Queen; his siblings, Larry Simpson, Drema Hill and Marshall Simpson; and also Jewell Poe.
He is survived by: his children, Valerie Ramsey (Steve) of Ohio, Shelly Chapman (Dean) of Ohio, Jeff Simpson (Belinda), Rhonda Porter (Andy) and Nicole Robbins; his stepchildren, Regina Stolp (George) and Travis Yocum; and his siblings, Tony Simpson (Carol), Dena Peck and Vicky Marcum (David). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
