Joel Fred Pauli Obituary
Joel Pauli Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joel Fred Pauli, age 84, of Jackson, Mo., formerly of Thayer, Missouri. on June 9, 2024.
He was born November 24, 1939, to Adolph and Lucy (Dunsmore) Pauli in Oregon County, Missouri.
Joel was happily married to the love of his life, Patsy (Porter) Pauli for 64 years.
He worked at Burlington Northern Railroad as a draftsman, electrical engineer, and instructor. After retiring, he had a cattle farm in Viola, Arkansas, and volunteered as a firefighter and first responder. He was a hard worker and kept busy as an avid entrepreneur in various small businesses.
Joel had many hobbies, including John Deere tractor restoration, enjoying mechanical work in general, and building usable things. He was a skilled storyteller, never meeting a stranger. His smile and personality lit up the room.
His favorite hobby was playing Santa Claus. He was proud of his authentic Santa persona, especially his natural beard that convinced children he was Santa when they tugged on it.
He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and the outdoors, but even more than that, he loved his family. Joel will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Patsy; four children, Cheryl (Mike) Dalton, Tamera (Richard) Baker, Steve (Seamus) Pauli, and Lisa (McCall) Pauli; four grandchildren, Heather Dalton, Eric (Jenn) Dalton, Ashley (Drew) Blattner, and Jordan (Brooke) Baker; three great-grandchildren, Miley, Ava and Kaden and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two sisters, Neva and Betty.
To celebrate Joel's life, there will be a casual gathering from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024, in the Community Center, adjoining Rose Hill Cemetery, in Thayer, Missouri. Thereafter, the family will honor Joel with private inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
