He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnson and Esther Dyer Johnson; his father-in-law Lloyd Oldenkamp; his brother Ron Johnson; and his nephew Jeff Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Val; his children, Sara Knabe (Scott), Katie Chapman (Lonnie), Paul Johnson (Emily) and Laura Boyle (Mike); his grandchildren, Grace Johnson, Wally, Lucy Boyle and Cal Knabe; his sister Jan Sorenson (Cliff); his sister-in-law Sharon Johnson; his mother-in-law Helen Oldenkamp; and his siblings-in-law, Duane (Anne), Don Oldenkamp (Debbie), Verla Niebuhr and Verjean Christopher (Pete). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
