He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Thomas and Eva Mae Schumpert Sanders; his son Daniel Ray Sanders; and his grandsons, Christopher Lee and Kyle Benjamin Sanders.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Kay Jenkins; and his sons, Donald Lee, Charles Albert Sanders of Jackson and Matthew Keith Sanders of Columbia, Missouri. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
