He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Lutes Sr. and Eleanor Lutes; his daughter Karla Lutes; and his sisters, Sharon Walton and Linda Lutes.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Lutes of Irondale, MO; his children, Jessica Everett (Jason) of Cadet, MO, Elizabeth Brewer (Gary) of Festus, MO, Christina Smith (Brian) of Hillsboro, MO, Tonya Greenlee (James) of DeSoto, MO and Jesse Pippin (Johnnette) of Irondale, MO; and his sisters, Carol Clubb (Jerry) of Greenville, MO and Barb Arnold (Alvin) of Paragould, AR. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving family members and friends.
