With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Zena Mae Allen of Independence, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on August 12, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Zimmerling and Gladys Zimmerling (Storms); her stepmother Bertille Zimmerling; her siblings, Selma Jo, Verla Towle, Nadine Vancamp, Grace Wion, Teresa Elsinger, Charlie, Bob and James; her husband Arnold Allen (Arnie); her sons, John Allen and Jeff Allen; and her great grandchild Marian Ohana Surrey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cherie Flynn of Holden, Cindy Allen of Olathe, Susan Vinson (Jimmy) of Lawson and Janis Allen of Independence; her daughter-in-law Annette Allen of Greenwood; her siblings, Rose Drake of Energy, Dolores Foutts of Martin City, Dorothy Landreth of Kansas City, Kansas, Mike Simmons (Phyllis) of Frankfort, Walt Zimmerling (Charlotte) of Frankfort, Paul Zimmerling (Mary) of Home and Phil Zimmerling (Judy) of Axtell, Kansas; and her brother-in-law Chuck Elsinger of Marysville, Kansas.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.
