She was predeceased by: her parents, Timothy Carey and Besse Carey; her siblings, Bettye Yates and Vernon Carey; and her husband Lee A. Cockrell, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Janet Cockrell (Ron), Carol Cockrell (Judy) and Tim Cockrell (Cathy); her grandsons, Michael Zeigler (Anne), Jordan Zeigler, Mark Cockrell and Jason Cockrell (Anna); and her great grandchildren, Rachel Cockrell, Ruth Cockrell and Clara Zeigler.
