She was predeceased by: her parents, Yewell Tungett and Blanche Tungett (McLaughlin); and her siblings, Edward Tungett, Leslie Tungett, Margaret Tungett, Yewell "Jane" Tungett, Jewell "Jean" Tungett, Yewell "Frank" Tungett, Jr., Anna Tungett (Mason) and Nancy Tungett (Hoelscher).
She is survived by: her husband James Edwin Petet (Jim); her children, Connie Ritchie (Randy) of Lee's Summit, Patricia "Patty" Petet of Independence and James "Dave" Petet; her daughter-in-law Melinda Petet (Kerns); her grandchildren, Lucy Petet and Luke Petet of Lee's Summit, Missouri.; and her stepsiblings, Joseph Dominick, Juanita Dominick, Mary Dominick, George Dominick, Doris Dominick, Dorothy Dominick, James Dominick, Charles Dominick, Michael Dominick and Barbara Dominick. She is also survived by Her children.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley would have been happy with a contribution to the Missouri Girls State Program or to Unleashed Pet Rescue: American Legion Auxiliary Attn: Missouri Girls State, Shirley Petet.
