He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Holmes and Mae Holmes. He is survived by: his wife De-De; his siblings, James Clyde Holmes, Mary "Frances" Gove, Lee Holmes, Bobby Holmes, John L. Holmes and Jewell Holmes; his children, Denise Mathers (Shawn), David L. Holmes (Valerie) and Roy Dale Holmes; his grandchildren, Danae, David, James, Lindsey and Jordan; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Alyssa, Carynah, Desaraye and Molly Kate; and his great great grandchild Ronin. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at the Woodlawn Cemetery (701 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050).
