He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schmitt and Rachel Schmitt; and his siblings, Edward Schmitt and Stella Horting. He is survived by: his daughter Janessa Carroll (Schmitt); his wife Jana Schmitt (Campbell); and his granddaughters, Laney and Piper. He is also survived by two nephews, and two nieces.
